Monica’s Tattoo Portfolio
Monica's Tattoo Portfolio
I love tattooing traditional tattoo themes in my own style, Traditional 90s New School, which is a mixture of cartoon and illustrative influence. I like bold, varied lines and bold colors and a bouncy aesthetic. Some of my favorite themes are fantasy animals, sea animals, monsters, flowers, everything nature, fantasy or sci-fi, dead or alive. Horror monsters and mermaids get me particularly excited. I am not interested in copying a tattoo reference directly. If you come to me for a tattoo, know that I will add my own flair to it, regardless of style. My art background is based heavily in illustration, comic books and animation. My style is inspired by cartoons, anime, manga, comics and anime. I went to college for animation and video game design, and I worked as a commissioned pencil artist for ten years before that. I was traditionally apprenticed at Hawaiian Island Tattoos, in Wahiawa, HI and I maintain a current tattoo license. The portfolio directly below is a collection of examples of the types of tattoos I would like to do more of.

Large Scale Projects
Monica balances her time between session and sleeve work, and smaller tattoos to avoid burnout, so she only works on a few large projects at a time to ensure they get finished before I move onto new projects. Please fill out the contact form to start the consult process.
