Frequently Asked Questions

Tattoos

It depends on the size, placement and complexity of your tattoo.  The shop minimum is $100.00.

I price most pieces by the piece.  If your project will need to be hourly I will let you know when we do the consult.

I would rather give you a deal or project price on your tattoo, rather than rush to meet an hourly time limit.

The minimum information we need to price your project:

Design references or Design notes

Size

Location on the body

The deposits to set the appointment $100.00, or 20-25%, the total cost of the tattoo, whichever is more.

If a design will take more art time than normal we may require a larger deposit.

Sleeves have a minimum deposit of $400.00. They take a lot of time to prepare.

You can ask for changes to the design, or reschedule up to 3 times before we will have to take another deposit towards the project.

If you switch the concept completely, we will have to take another deposit towards the tattoo.

Deposits are non-refundable.

If you no-call or no-show your tattoo appointment for any reason, you lose your deposit, so please give us 48 hours notice whenever possible if you know that you will need to reschedule.

The current process for getting a walk-in is pretty simple.

On the day you want to walk in, e-mail or text the shop number with your design notes, image and placement.

We check the phone and e-mail for walk-in requests at 12 pm, and again at 4pm each day.

If we have any availability or surprise openings for that day, we will let you know.

If we are already scheduled with a client, we won’t be able to get back to you until we finish with what was already scheduled.

Walk-in Tattoos are usually fist size or smaller.  If you want anything larger there is a chance we may have to schedule you for another day.  Walk-in consults are welcome whenever we have walk-in availability.

No pool, beach, bath or sauna until it’s healed.  Use aquafor sparingly 2-3 times a day for at least 2 weeks.  No itching or scratching. Scratch next to it, or tap it.

You have to be 18 to get a piercing or tattoo on your own.

If you are a parent trying to help a child 16 or older get a tattoo or a piercing please e-mail the shop for more information.

 

Female tattoo artists are less plentiful than their male counterparts.  Whatever reason you may have for preferring a female, don’t worry, we got you.

Some people think women tattooers are gentler.  Others just like the perspective of a female aesthetic. 

And some people are just plain sexist and want a girl to do their girly tattoo.  No problem, to each his own.

Yes, please mention being Military it when you reach out for your quote.  We can offer you up to 25% discount on the total for tattoos.

To start the consult process, please use the contact form.

We’ll review your project, and if it requires an in person consult we’ll get you scheduled to talk to an artist so you can define the project and get some pricing.  There is no charge for basic pricing consults.

Cover-ups, and certain body placements, like the female sternum will always require an in person consult, and will require a non-refundable $100.00 deposit for the consult.

I’ve had to put this in place for these types of consults because I actually do need to sit down with you, get tracings and start planning for the project to have an idea of what the tattoo will cost.

Whether you are here for a new tattoo or a consult, we need the paperwork signed before we go into the back room or do a consult.

If it is a continuing project, and you have already paid in full, we have already filed your paperwork, and there is no reason to do paperwork again.

We do not give refunds on services provided for any reason.  For piercings, you have a two week grace period to request a re-pierce or a jewelry adjustment for any reason.  After that, you are on your own.

For tattoos, there is no refunds whatsoever.  You made the choice to get a tattoo.  You have the chance to review artwork before paying, and then again before the actual tattoo starts.  You then check the tattoo again before you leave the shop, and have a chance to request any adjustments before you head out.

Touch-ups are a normal thing, and they can be required for a variety of reasons.   There is no charge for a touch-up if you come back within 1 year of getting your tattoo.  To take advantage of your touch-up option, you must come back for your touch up within one year of getting the tattoo.  There is wiggle room here for clients who visit from out of state.

 

Piercing FAQ

We are happy to take a look at your piercing and offer advice, even if we weren’t the ones to do your piercing.

Please give us a call, shoot us a text, or walk-in during walk-in piercing hours.

We do not give refunds for any services provided for any reason.  We give you a 2 week period after getting pierced where you can request a re-pierce or jewelry adjustment for any reason, but if you’ve already taken the piercing out without coming in to show a piercer within the time period you are on your own.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the shop at the first sign of discomfort.  If you think something might be wrong, please don’t sit wondering.  I f you have a concern, please text the shop.

Yes, you can, the piercer will take a look at it when you come in and let you know if we can use it or not.

To increase your chances, please make sure that the jewelry you buy is medical grade Surgical Steel (SAE 316 ), Titanium, Sterling Silver, or 14k or better gold.

We do not recommend plated jewelry for fresh piercings, and it’s common that things marked as surgical steel on amazon are not, so please be cautious.

We have a selection of titanium, surgical steel and some silver  jewelry available for an additional charge.

We also have a limited selection of 14k gold jewelry in stock for an additional charge for a variety of piercings.

We pierce people as young as 5 years old.  Please check the piercing page for all the piercings and age limits per types of piercings.

Yes, if you would prefer a female piercer, no problem.  Monica has a few spots every week open for booking.  If you can’t find one, please e-mail or text the shop phone and we’ll find you a spot.

If you are unhappy with the placement of your piercing for any reason, please reach out to us within two weeks.  We want you to love your piercing.

Yes, we have replacement jewelry available.  We do not sell jewelry without a service. 

Our jewelry change service starts at $25.00, and comes with a choice of jewelry.

If you were pierced here and the ball fell off during the initial healing period of 6 weeks, please let us know. We have back-ups.  Please come during the walk-in piercing hours and we’ll put it back on for you.

No matter what the reason or the price, you need to sign the release form to talk to a piercer or go back into the piercing room.

We pierce with standardized sizing to allow for swelling during the healing process.  We do offer jewelry change services.  Regardless of which surgical steel or titanium jewelry you select, the price for a jewelry change is $25.00.  If you bring your own jewelry, the jewelry change is $10.00 per hole.
